Our 17th and 18th Century historical educators can hold a variety of demonstrations and workshops at your site. Below is a list of some of the demos available. We also do custom events. Rates are $50 per hour, which does not include materials fees for hands-on sessions. Daily rates are also negotiable. Fish Netting
Essential to early Dutch colonial life in New Amsterdam and along the Hudson River, session participants learn the basics of creating a fish net.
Thread Button Making
Learn to make several kinds of buttons that were common in Colonial and early America. Designed for Ages 5 and up. Each session is suitable for groups of three at a time.
Native American Finger Weaving (Weaving Without Looms)
The demo covers the basics of this ancient technique, and can be done one-on-one or in small groups of five to 10 people per session.

Clay Marble Making

Before mass manufacturing, children made many of their own toys from what was readily available. Learn how to make and how to play with this early American toy. Must be done outdoors.

Ancient Pottery

This sessions has participants learn, hands-on about the process of making useful vessels before the contact period.

Children’s Games, and Dances Including ‘The Guessing Game’

This session is designed for children of all ages, and can include 18th Century dance, Dutch Wooden Shoe Dancing, several early American children’s games and other participation-type activities. Call for details of how we can customize a session for your event.
